About
I’m Robin. Evidence-Based Nutritionist. Everyday Athlete.
I help ambitious professionals and recreational athletes improve body composition and lose fat without getting trapped in diet culture, misinformation or quick-fix solutions. I’m based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, and work with clients across the Cotswolds as well as online throughout the UK.

The Everyday Athlete approach

My background is a little different from that of most nutritionists. I started in the fitness industry more than 20 years ago and gained my Level 3 Personal Training qualification in 2007. I then joined the Royal Navy as a mine clearance diver because I wanted to find out what my body and mind were truly capable of.
For 14 years, I dealt with historic and modern day ordnance both underwater and on land, travelled the globe on operations, and helped to train the Special Forces to dive. It was an environment that demanded preparation, composure, discipline and the ability to make good decisions under pressure.

I have trained for more than 20 years and made significant changes to my body (added 4-stone of muscle). But for a long time, my body did not match the hours of training I was putting in. I was physically fit, but I did not look the way I wanted to. Learning about nutrition was the switch that made the image match the fitness.
“Learning about nutrition was the switch that made the image match the fitness.”
Why nutrition became the focus

After being medically discharged from the military, I had to adapt to a completely new challenge. That change ultimately brought me back to a subject I had been passionate about for more than two decades. I built Everyday Athlete Nutrition® to help everyday people achieve amazing things. The decisions are different, but the techniques are transferable: understand the situation, focus on what you can control, adapt when things change and keep moving forward.
“The decisions are different, but the techniques are transferable.”
The principle behind the coaching

I am currently an MNU undergraduate (graduating November 2026), studying a Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Nutrition Science. I am wholly evidence-based, using the backing of science to inform my principles, and my experience to customise the methods. No rigid meal plans, no perfection and no dependency on a coach telling you what to eat every day—just a clear strategy you can understand and use for yourself.
“Good nutrition doesn’t require perfection — it requires understanding. When you know why something works, you can adapt it. When you can adapt it, you can sustain it.”
